Since I live in a rural area, I would like to see a discussion on survival rifles that could be used to shoot small game. Also which ones would be easy to take with you if you had to evacuate.

I love your blog! I put a button on my blog and hope everyone clicks on the link so they can access all the awesome information.
Thanks!

I started my food storage with the back up meal, similar to the military meals ready to eat (MRE) I've found them to be a great value, easy to use, and easy to store. Great job on the new web site.

I would love to read about what to do with our preparedness supplies, specifically wheat and other grains. We all know how to rehydrate food (like mashed potato flakes) but honestly other than grinding it up into flour and baking bread etc. I wouldn't know what to do with my stored wheat. Also, what other items should we be storing up that we don't think about, like wheat meat flavoring, spices, ketchup, etc.
Looking forward to reading your blog posts! :0)

This site is a true blessing in helping us get our families and homes prepared. I could spend days on here reading and shopping for all the wonderful items that are needed to be prepared and even offers recipes and guidelines and links to state readiness plans. It covers everything from A to Z and is a great tool in providing the info needed in one place. Cuts out the research and lets you get straight into taking steps to be fully prepared. Thank you for putting this site together and taking the guesswork and stress out of the equation to preparedness. Forever grateful

I'm trying to get more prepared and scouting out options. My husband bought food from you for a backpacking trip and really enjoyed everything he tried.
We'd love to be winners!

I would like to see ideas on how to get the whole family involved in emergency preparedness. We have pets, and would like to see a discussion on keeping us and our pets safe and comfortable during emergency situations. Back in 2001, 9/11 scared me so much I bought a ton of emergency supplies. We still have some Mountain House packaged food, and they are still good! My supplies have since dwindled, so a new kit would be appreciated!

I am really glad to see something of this nature. People are thinking of preparedness more and more all the time.

Great blog- I would love to see a topic on the blog of how to keep stored water from tasting stale. Are there any suggestions as to how to keep our sterile drinking water from tasting so terrible after being stored for a long period of time?

Wow – thanks for the new blog! It's already slightly an addictive blog… :-)
I would like to hear more about keeping stocked for emergencies when living in small spaces. Our family of three lives in a small one-bedroom apartment in a large urban area with very little space to "stock up" – any ideas?
Thank you!
Arthur
I would like a discussion on where is the best place to store your #10 cans.

thanks for the chance to win! your site is great and very informative!

i think this is a great idea. i have recently began working on preparedness and food storage so looking for as much info as i can find. one topic of immediate interest is how long food items will store once a large container has been opened – say a 10 lb can or a 25 lb bag of powdered milk. if only 1 or 2 people are using the food item it may take awhile to consume the entire quantity so what is the best way to store.

I have purchased many of your products. I saw a person ask about water purification. I reccomend the Katadyn combi filter it has the smallest pore size and is a good value this month at only 120 dollars (group purchase) for 13000 gallons of water.

Really like the idea, had a great time walking your site.
We are going about this with no plan, and it looks daunting to say the least. My question, what are the priorities. How do you do this systematically with out breaking the bank.

Thanks for the chance to win and all the great info.

I lived through Hurricane Katrina. I learned that you can be prepared and that does not always protect you, but if you are prepared you need not fear, and you are not promised that you will get to eat what you store, only that if you do store, you will not go hungry. I can tell you that those are both true statements. The first thing that we replaced after the storm was our food storage. Looking for and finding our food storage after the storm proved that water did not destory our home, it was a tornado.

I was wondering if we could discuss more the difference between water purification and filtration and/or how to properly prepare for 72 hour kits when it is winter time.

Hmm… I'd love to hear about pandemic preparedness and how to keep food storage organized and easy to access/rotate.

Hi I love the website!! This is a great idea!! My concern is when people think of prepardness most times they think of 'food' only, which is extrememly important obviously. But it would be great to bring attention to people on what other things besides food they should have prepared in case of an emergency, things like first aid kits…not only in the house but in cars as well. Things like toiletries and items along those lines.
Also, it would be great to know which water purifiers work best.
Thank you!! -Christie

I would like to see the food allergies / special diet items previously suggested. 5 year emergency bars in particular are all wheat containing. Are they considering gluten free ones?
I would also like to see information on community (like minded) and helping your community be prepared. That would include things like volunteering for CERT, Red Cross, Amateur radio, and so on.

I would like a more detailed discussion of how long the various #10 canned items will last. There are just two of us here, and the amount in a #10 can of almost anything seems to be overwhelming and we don't know how fast we need to use it once opened.

I love this site and will definitely book mark it.
