A topic I'd be interested in discussing is food storage recommendations for toddlers and young children. ([email protected])

hi, i would like to know more about why people prepare for change. like disasters, loss of income, religious reasons, thinking the world is coming to an end, or drastic world changes and how they will survive them, (short and long term)etc.

This is Great!! Thank you so much for making this blog. I would love to know more about storing water. I am actually excited about getting prepared for emergencies now thanks to your site.

An article on how to convince a reluctant spouse of the importance of food storage would be quite helpful.

I would like more information on how to correctly store water and how to purify it.

I would like to read more about solar ovens- ways to cook and live a bit more comfortably if access to electricity is a problem.

We live in Boston in a drafty house from 1860 (and the fireplace is non-functional); I would love some tips on what to do to keep my family safe in case of a long term power outage. Also, I freeze a lot of veggies / fruits for my kids but am not versed in canning, would like some canning tips. Thanks for putting together a great site!

I live in an area of the country that has very high humidity, cool and dry are not really a choice for me. I run a dehumidifier where I have my food stored, but is there some other suggestion? Also once I open my cans or bags, is there a good way to store them in a humid climate? And yes it is that way both summer and winter. Any help would be appreciated. Corrin in South East PA

I'd like to make a better 72 hour kit than one that just has water and granola bars

VERY NICE, I LIKE THE NEW BLOG VERY MUCH

Water purification topic, particularly what to do with water filter pumps purchased but stowed away for "the emergency". Should these be used periodically—same concept as food rotation?
Lisa
Gluten free preparedness is always of interest for us

Glad I found this site!
I would like to learn more about water purification, best medicines for stings, snake bites, etc.
Alot of people get stranded in their car during various situations or disasters, how to survive in different weather and what to keep in your car.

I send your articles to the entire family. We are all taking your good preparedness advice. Thanks for sharing, and encouraging personal safety.

I would like information for those of us with very little storage space. Living in an apartment I have very little storage space and already have utilized storage under our bed. Yet, I don't have room for the rest of my emergency supply. Even if it is just ideas on smaller containers for easier smaller storage areas….
Heather
Thank you for this site. I would like to see tips on meal planning around food storage and how to keep track of what you have stored. I have a pantry but it is large and I forget what I have, can't find stuff, and have chosen things at random (like, when they were on sale) so that I'm not sure how many meals I could actually prepare from my stored items.

This is a great blog. I would like to see how to use solar oven cooking.
I also would like to see rain water collection addressed.

Some discussion about communications between the family, using of low power radios (Family service type) to contact with family outside the disaster area with web based email to Ham radio.

I would like to see topics on FINDING water in an emergency. Most poeple don't know thay have available water in their water heaters, pipes, and even the toilet tank. You have to have water for your body to digest food. Always boil water or treat before consuming.
Deanne Gayler
I would love to have recipes on here and how to incorporate using the dehydrated foods from you. We have a "sample sunday" once a month using your products and would appreciate more recipes and ideas how to use them, especially for cooking for children…

We would advise everyone to give your two person 72 hour kit as a wedding gift. We have for all our children and they're so grateful for the jump start.

I would love a discussion on how much food a family of 3,4, or 5 really needs to make it for a year. Not just grains & beans, but fun food too.
Thanks!

I would like to know the VERY best way to store(safely/without bugs)dehydrated foods. Thanks!

what is available to change (or how do you change) a 2 foot deep pantry into a rolling rotatable pantry for your canned storage?
Christine
I love this site. It is very useful. Thanks for all the great info.

I am really happy that you now have a blog to help us out!! Thanks!!
Irene
I've bookmarked this, it'll be very helpful. All of the topics already listed would be great.

I would like to see you discuss the type of places we would be likely to end up in the event that we had to leave our homes quickly (and needed the 72 hour kit). For example, a shelter, and what other sort of things we would do well to have with us in the event that we did end up in a shelter.
Shirlee
Our family loves your super pails of instant rolled oats. We eat it every morning. I would enjoy reading articles on how to get started on food storage without breaking your budget and food storage rotation methods.

I would love to see reviews and recommendations of portable emergency generators for short- and long-term power outage situations. How long do they run? How often do you have to refuel them? How do you store fuel? How many volts are needed to power different things? A wind storm took out power in our town for 3 to 10 days, and having a generator would have really been helpful! Thanks! Like a few other preparedness friends, I would like to learn about food storage tips for those people with food restrictions like celiac disease.
Thank you for your new site! My husband and I are elated.

I would like more information on how to store foods for those with wheat sensitivies and other food allergies (peanuts/nuts). Thanks.
Michael Kane
Just like some info on food storage for those of us who are on fixed incomes…social security. We can't buy the expensive stuff but we can dehydrate some things.
Colleen
I am really impressed with this site. Great information at my finger tips.
Jenn
I'm going to echo Richard C. Haven and recommend Emergency Preparedness for people with food allergies.
For example, if you have a nut allergy, many of the quick ration bars may not work for you. If you have a corn or soy allergy, almost all of the MREs, entree type foods, and meats with sauce/spices will not work for you.
Mimi
I'm in California, so earthquake preparedness! Especially, the proper way to store, use, clean, and refill my 55 gallon (Emergency Essentials) water barrel.
Annette
Glad for the blog spot. Great idea!

So exciting to see this blog! We order as a group monthly! Very happy! I would like to see a discussion on recipes that rely solely on cooking with food storage in times of emergency. So, recipes I guess. That is the most common request by our group…more recipes and how to use food storage.
Judith
I would like to learn more about the length of time foods can be stored.
