I'm looking forward to lots more interesting topics here. One thing I would like to see is a "jump in where you are" approach to emergency preparedness. Almost everyone has some preparations, after all. It's just a matter of continuing to move along the continuum from "I can survive an afternoon without electricity" to "I can go three weeks without seeing another soul or having any utilities" to "a year without power, water, or sanitation? No problem."

I would like stories from people in the field on use of the preparedness foods in post disaster situations.

I recently moved to the south where I have to worry about hurricane season! Any preparedness tips for that would be great.

I would be very interested in not only straightforward preparedness, but also thinking along the lines of who is in your household (ie. pets, children, seniors, etc.) and what really should be packed/prepared for each person. I myself have several pets and it would be irresponsible of me to not pack enough to feed them for some time and a safe and sturdy kennel to keep them in…..

Oops, I got too excited. I'm really interested in how to store and rotate the food. Seems like it is always so hard to keep it rotated.

Would like to know more ways to organize your food storage and having a 'system' to go by.

I would love to discuss meal planning and recipes for emergency storage and how to prepare, ie cook stove, solar oven, etc.
I would also like to learn more about water purification and storage.

I would like to see a discussion about how to properly field dress small game animals and how to properly cook them over a campfire.
