Can't wait to try these out. Love those brownies.

They do look thin, but I bet when you really need some chocolate they would fit the bill ;)

Mrzitro – If you follow the recipe exactly and use a 13×9 pan, you will end up with thin brownies like we did. We used two square baking pans instead of the one larger 13×9 pan. If you wanted thicker brownies, you could put all of the batter in a square baking pan.

I never knew you could make something yummy with whole wheat, they just don't seem to go together. This I will have to try!

Kevin – You can substitute applesauce in baked goods like brownies and cakes. You might be able to try it in this recipe.

In looking towards nutrition, are there alternatives to adding the 2/3 cup of oil that might make the brownies more healthy? Kudos to something delicious looking from whole wheat!

They look kinda like a sweet pemmican… I am currently using rice flour to make things (my partner's gluten intolerant), and finding them a challenge!

Interesting recipe. Your brownies look thin. Was that by design?
