You have nice ideas. I think we should use these because it will helpful at any time.

Definately need to add road flares to my car kits, but it's nice to see a realistic list of needs. You can never be too safe!

They should come standard with cars.
Given the severity of many auto crash wounds I recommend at least one
QuikClot trauma sponge for massive wounds until help arrives

These are all great suggestions. One important item you left out is an emergency glass breaker in case you find your car submerged in water. In Florida we have a lot of canals along our roads and it is sadly common to hear of a car that went into a canal and the occupants drowned. For those of us that recognize the importance of driving safety we should all have an emergency car kit like this!

Great list! We also keep a small camping shovel that folds up. For digging out of the snow or mud. It also comes in handy if you have to go to the bathroom off the side of the road.

Thanks for the reminder, I tend to procrastinate and I know and need to do better. Sometimes I think about the preparedness at home but tend to forget about when you are on the go.

Thanks for posting. We're doing a local group planning for hurricanes and tornadoes by having your car prepared, perfect timing!

I have added two small packets of Quick Relief Stop Bleeding Instantly powder to my first aid kit. Yes, it's a bit spendy, but the only time you need it is when it saves your life.

I have also added some insect repellent and a tube of Stop Itch that relieves the discomfort of insect stings and bites. They won't necessarily save your life, though there are some life-threatening diseases spread by mosquito bites, but they may save your sanity.
