You may have noticed that we have many items listed on our website as being "Temporarily Backordered". We would like to answer a few frequently asked questions about what it means when a product is listed as being "Temporarily Backordered".
If an item is listed as being Temporarily Backordered can it still be ordered?
Yes! We are receiving and shipping product daily. The best thing to do is place your order so that you will be placed in the queue to receive this product. Average expected shipping dates are currently ranging from 2 to 20 business days.
Should I wait until the item is “In Stock” on your website to place an order?
No! We suggest that you go ahead and place your order. The status of an item will only be changed to "In Stock" once it is no longer on backorder. Since people are constantly placing and receiving orders for these products, the status of an item could be listed as being “Temporarily Backordered” for an extended period of time. It is wise to get in line by placing your order because orders are generally processed in the order they were received.
What happens if I order ten items but two are Temporarily Backordered?
Ideally we would like to ship your order in full. If that is not possible, we may ship what we have in stock and then ship the items on backorder as soon as they come in. If we do ship your order in multiple shipments, you will only be charged the one low shipping fee.

Charlene- When I just checked, I saw that we have powdered egg whites available to be shipped immediately. We are on backorder on the powdered scrambled eggs and whole eggs but we suggest that you go ahead and place your order so you will be in line for them.

Can you tell me what the status is on dried egg products? I had heard that those might be on backorder for a longer period of time.

Anonymous – Thank you for your question. The high number of products that we have on backorder currently is due to increases of orders from concerned customers.

We have been told that the U.S. goverment has ordered an unusally large amount of food storage items from the manufacturers, leading to shortages and backorders on the retail end. Is there any truth to this or are the shortages due to high volumes of orders by concerned consumers that have occured naturally?

Doug – Your card won't be charged until your order ships out. Also, canceling orders on backorder works the same way that canceling in-stock orders works.
Anonymous – Our 800 number has been receiving a high volume of calls and from time to time that means that some callers aren't able to get through on the first try. We suggest trying to call back later. Sometimes if you wait just five minutes, that is enough time to be able to get through. You can also send an e-mail to [email protected] with your order number and they will do their best to respond with the status of your order.

I ordered on 3-4-2011 and have not recieved my order. How can I check on it? The 800 number says there is a large volumn of callers and my call can not be answered, to leave a message. the answering machine says it is full and can not take my message.

When an item is backordered online, do you process the charge to payment card at time of order or at time of shipping? Are there considerations for cancelling an order on backorder that are different than cancelling an in-stock order?
