This giveaway has closed and we've contacted the winner. Hopefully it's you!
Thanks everyone for participating. Check back because you never know when another giveaway might come along...
It’s time for a giveaway here on the Preparedness Pantry Blog, don’tcha think?
The giveaway prize is two cans of Provident Pantry™ Whole Egg Powder—a #10 can and a MyChoice™ can. So, if you win you’ll have a smaller can to experiment with now, plus a large can to keep in your long-term food storage for the future!
Whole Egg Powder is a versatile product—you can use it to make scrambled eggs, frittata, or quiche (we suggest adding powdered milk for better results when you’re using the Whole Egg Powder instead of Scrambled Egg Mix), plus you can add it to baked goods in place of fresh eggs. Anywhere you would use fresh whole eggs, these make a great substitute—and they’re stable on the shelf much longer than fresh eggs, too!
To enter, just leave a comment on this post telling us what recipe(s) you’d like to try if you win. If you came to this post from Facebook, be sure to comment here on the blog, not just on FB.
That’s it, folks! Good luck.

Well, the garden is starting to come up so that gets me thinking of fresh vegetables. Of course it snowed several inches here day before yesterday and that got me thinking of fall and hunting. So the thing to try cooking would be a simple scrambled egg with vegetables from the garden and some elk sausage from the freezer. Breakfast !!
Kerry Crowell
I would like to try them in a breakfast quiche with ham and lots of veggies from the garden.

My family loves to have a breakfast burrito for dinner and the left overs for breakfast! I cook 1 lb of each bacon, ham and sausage. Then scramble the equivalent of 18 eggs. When the eggs are almost done add the meat and half a package each mozzarella and cheddar cheese shredded. Once done add to a tortilla shell and wrap burrito style and enjoy! And every single one of these items can be found here at Emergency Essentials! The left overs last about 2 days.

I have been thinking about getting this item to test recipes with. I think a lot of recipes can use powered whole egg.

For the last year i have been making "prepping" recipes that you just have to add water to but i have none with whole egg powder yet. If i won the recipes i would try is a hashbrown frittata, a souflee and my all dry corn bread recipe that is so lacking the eggs. It has dried buttermilk but is not right without eggs. I can’t wait ti try this product!

I would like to use the egg powder in all of my recipes that call for eggs, that way I wouldn’t have to worry about having eggs in the house for just me.

I want to try whole egg powder in my "in-a-jar" recipes: cakes, cookies, omelets, I also want to try it in my protein shakes, I’ve heard that egg gives them a smoother consistency and ups the protein even more!

If the Whole Egg Powder can make a good omelet i have to add
some to my food storage plan.

Potatoe and sausage Frittata! Yes, that’s the ticket for me. I would definitely make this as the main dish that our family loves piping hot for a dinner – or – left-over cold for lunch. Now I think almost talking myself into making one; but I’ll wait until next week to see if I’m making them with YOUR eggs and not mine this time! Thanks.

My wife & I want to try a Breakfast Burrito or Lasagna dish.

I am wondering how the egg powder would be for using it in a pumpkin pie? Do you think it would make a firmer custard?

We have a family recipe. Fry chopped up bacon until half done, toss in 2 pieces of bread chopped into bite size squares, fry until crispy like a crouton, then add the uncooked scrambled egg, finish cooking. Called Craup Spraut….I think a German dish? Sometimes we add leftover potatoes chopped up.

This would be EGGCELLENT! I haven’t tried any egg products but it’s been on my list would love to win this!

Rob,
You’re right… just the powdered eggs won’t fluff up like our scrambled egg mix. We suggest also adding some powdered milk, or adding fresh milk once the eggs are reconstituted.

I would make my families favorite which is Mushroom Frittata.
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chives chopped
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
6 eggs
sea salt and freshly ground black paper to taste
1/2 cup cheddar grated
preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 10-inch round baking dish. We use a cast-iron pan. In the pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Saute the garlic, chives and mushrooms till softened. Remove from heat and pour into baking dish or leave in cast iron pan.
In a bowl, whisk eggs until blended, and pour this over the sauted ingrediants in the baking dish or cast iron pan. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until a thin knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Eat and enjoy.
Mike
I second the French Toast!!!

Having been in several disasters and working with search and rescue groups, I know the importance of "comfort" food. I would love to be able to recreate my family’s holiday breakfast casserole from freeze-dried/dehydrated ingrediences.

I sell pampered chef and we make a microwave cake using regular boxed cake mixes and I would like to see if the powder works just as good a regular eggs do!

Oh wow!! So many receipes that I would try this in. Probably a quiche, or fritata first. Then I would try them in cookies.
