Thanks for your question. I went and looked at Mountain House’s site (we sell Mountain House, but we don’t make that product ourselves) and also at our own for any possible vegan options. All I could find were the Mountain House vegetable sides like the fire roasted veggies, peas, corn, etc. They do have several vegetarian options, but a lot of them contain dairy. I’d suggest getting in to contact with Mountain House and asking them to consider producing vegan products because I think that is a great market to reach. You can contact them here: http://www.mountainhouse.com/M/CTUS.html. As far as the low sodium products go (unfortunately, they don’t have any vegan options for low sodium products), the pouch versions of the chicken and white bean chili, chicken salad, and New Orleans Rice with Shrimp and Ham are all low sodium options.
We have always liked Mountain House products, but now are looking for vegan entrees. Are you planning to do any freeze-dried vegan entrees?
Another issue we have is the amount of salt in so many freeze-dried products out there. Do you have any low sodium entrees?
Thank you for your question. Since many of the products do contain seasonings, there is MSG in some of the products. Please look at the labels and nutritional info on the cans before purchasing.
Thank you for giving us great food for so many years.
Do any of your products use MSG?
Thanks for sharing! That’s a great way to use Mountain House.
We have been using Mountain House for years for years especially when we go hunting. Now we have houses in Ireland, Nove Scotia, and Germany and they are all stocked with Mountain House products.
It is great because we dont have to go shopping when we get there. Just heat water and eat the best food you can hope for.
Mountain House has been added to my food storage shelves for years. I would like to know which entrees include some form of MSG.
Thanks for this video, too!
Thanks for sharing. In your opinion, do you think the food has changed much since the 1970s? What types of entrees were they serving then compare to now? Also, what would you say your favorite Mountain House meal is?
We discovered Mountain House as backpackers in the 1970s. It is now my go to food when I don’t feel up to cooking but want something tasty to eat.
Thanks for your comment! Mountain House has worked very hard to make a quality product.
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for reading our blog and thanks for commenting! We do think that Mountain House is a great product and want to share it with everyone. Since you’ve been buying Mountain House for years, what would you say is your favorite Mountain House meal?
Thank you so much for the video. I’ve been buying Mountain House for years and I’m happy to see how seriously you work to bring us a quality product!
Have used Coleman,AUGUSTON?,and a couple more, but nothing comes close to Mountain House quality and taste.Am a prepper and every time I have a little money left at end of month I try to order a couple more of no# 10 cans.thanks for your prouct.
I think Mountain House tastes good. They are also the only place that does freeze dried foods without also processing peanuts/treenuts in their facility! That is why they are the only brand we will buy :)
