Philippines Typhoon - Typhoon Haiyan

Last Saturday, Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines and left thousands destitute and alone in its wake. They are without food, clean water, and other necessities. But you can help. For each of the featured items below sold in the next 48 hours, Emergency Essentials will donate $20 of supplies to help with relief efforts in the Philippines.

We are working through Charity Vision, an established and reputable non-profit relief organization, to outfit a relief team of medical and other professionals who will be on the ground in the Philippines. With our supplies they’ll stay fed, hydrated, and healthy so they can prepare for 50 more of their colleagues to join them in providing relief to Haiyan’s victims.

For every featured item sold in the next 48 hours (until 6 pm MST on 11/14) Emergency Essentials will donate $20 in supplies to CharityVision’s relief efforts for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. What is CharityVision?

Due to our work in this industry, we have connected with charities and organizations we trust—organizations that are credible in helping with emergency situations. CharityVision is one of these groups.

CharityVision provides medical care for those in need. Employing skilled physicians to serve each at-need community, they provide medical supplies, financial resources, medical facilities, and optometry services to developing countries. To learn more about CharityVision, check out their website http://www.restoretheirvision.org/

In the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, one of CharityVision’s representatives was stuck at an airport in the Philippines during the mayhem. He was able to get a first-hand account of the needs of those affected and is asking others to help. Check out his Facebook Post on CharityVision’s Facebook page that lists items needed (work gloves, medical supplies, tarps, and much more), the address of the organizations’s home office in Alpine, Utah where you can send needed items, and other ways to donate to this charity.

The Impact of Typhoon Haiyan

Help the Survivors of Typhoon Haiyan

Images and reports of the devastating effects of Typhoon Haiyan in the Phillipines have reminded us of the severe and sudden impacts that natural disasters play in altering our way of life.

According to the Washington Post, as of Monday, “The super-typhoon that tore through the Philippines and left a feared five-figure death toll (an estimated 10,000) touched down in central Vietnam early Monday, already ranking as one of Asia’s most destructive natural disasters in recent decades.” Entire regions still remain without food or adequate supplies to help people recover from the storm or get proper medical attention. This is why relief and aid are needed now.

Our thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes go out to all those impacted by Typhoon Haiyan. Let’s all do what we can to help alleviate the suffering.
