Excellent point, Linda. When you don’t have the energy or strength, being able to just add hot water and let it sit for a few minutes is a nice way to get a hot meal. —Sarah

Recovering from illness or surgery. Mountain House takes so little effort to have good food. And the noodles with chicken makes a good substitute for chicken noodle soup.

Great suggestion! Relaxing in the hotel room with a nice Mountain House entree is a much better way to end the day on a work trip than a noisy restaurant. And you don’t have to tell me twice how good an MRE pound cake is for dessert. Those things are tasty!! —Sarah

You travel for a living (e.g., salesman, truck driver, motivational speaker, evangelist, etc.) and you need quick meals in your hotel room.
Family, cross-country vacation, high restaurant prices, picnic area, can of Mountain House entree, a couple of thermoses filled with hot water, MRE pound cake for dessert. Need I say more?

I love to take Mountain House entrees to work in my mini lunch crock pot. I put 1 serving amount of Mountain House in with a cup of low sodium chicken stock & some additional veggies. Turn it on a couple hours before lunch & it’s piping hot when I’m ready to eat.
