I would love to see blogs on how apartment dwellers can stop up with very little room and no garden, what is a good way to start and what products would be simple to use for a beginner!

In these troubled times we all need to be prepared for anything!!

I would love articles with recipes and instructions on using stored foods. Lots of people forget about the "eat what you store" directive… and then are totally stuck when it comes to actually using it. We need to avoid "diet fatigue" as much as possible, especially in emergencies when we need our calories and comfort foods!

I'd like to know what car kit components can be gathered for cars in extreme heat and cold (sub-freezing) situations. The heat of summer shortens the life span of food items and winter poses problems for water storage.

Gld to see so much interest in this feature. Would love to see more on LTS on items other than the typical "Beans and Rice" along with recipes incorporating those products. Thanks!!!

I would love to learn more about preparing food for picky child eaters.

Would like to see info about water storage. After six months, do you really need to pour it out and replace, or just add air by pouring back and forth? Couldn't you just pour it back and forth at the time you need it? What happens if you don't and you're using old water…what are the risks? What's the difference between whether the water you stored is well water or city water?
Also, recipes using dehydrated foods would be welcomed.

I can't get too much information about how to prepare. Tips in using your products are always helpful.

Suggest looking at Wendy DeWitt's ideas for organizing food storage; water storage, solar oven cooking, all things to do with food storage.
She has classes on YouTube and a DVD can be ordered from her. Her web sites can be achieved with Google:

I would like more suggestions on how and where to store the food.

I think this blog is a great idea. I would like to see some discussion of emergency supplies for shoes. I have thought for a long time that I wanted to store leather and learn how to make moccasins. Now I am in heavy duty shoes with heavy duty orthotics, and it will be very expensive to store extra pairs. I would welcome other ideas.

I would love to read about the different ways we can use your products. For example, the different uses for powdered milk or cheese blend. It would be great to read more about sprouting also. Getting better organized is always a great topic as well. I think this blog is a great idea.

I love comments on how to make food storage items a better consistency/closer to the original items — ie: adding less water, etc. Thanks!
Papadoc
I would like to see some discussion of food storage ideas for people with Diebetes &/or other ailments. I personnaly am a diebetic and find that carbohydrates have as large or larger effect on blood sugar levels than pure cane sugar. Most long term food storage is high on carbohydrates as well as having a higher than neccissary sodium level.

I would like to know more about how to treat water before storing it in large water containers, so that they can sit there for years instead of months.
Also, maybe an article on making your own ceramic water filters using an oven, homemade kiln, or firepit.
J. David Boyd
I would like to read about Freeze-dried fruits and vegetables, and the best way to use them in survival rations
Jeanne
Our family would appreciate some nutritious food ideas for 72-hour kits.

I have a terminal illness, but have managed to survive 10 years past diagnosis. Most people survive an average 3 to 4 years post-diagnosis. I'd like to see tips and/or articles on keeping ones precious medical necessities safe and usable in the event of an emergency. Especially in a humid situation, such as a hurricane emergency (I live near Galveston, Texas and fled for Nashville for a whole month during Hurricane Ike – I was very lucky.) In my situation it can mean life or death, but even in a case that isn't this drastic, a medical emergency kit is vital; one never knows what horrible things can occur with no way of getting medical help.
Thank you! Keep up the great work!

How long can the pails of powdered milk last sealed?

Would be interested in details on storage of batteries and shelf life. Also would it be better to have regular batteries than re-chargables in an emergency situation.

I'm hearing from grateful people because they have food storage to rely on with job cut backs and layoffs. We're seeing the wisdom of following the Prophets.

I would love to see something about water filters and which ones are great to have in storage.
