I would like to have discussed complete portable Preparedness products – Those that can be carried by an individual. I fly an airplane and many time cross fairly remote areas .. My questions revolve around what type of food products have long term viability – light to carry, and could sustain 2-3 persons while you attempted to trek back to civilization. What are the best food types / forms – energy food bars ? Hiker’s type packaged meals ? etc..

Thank You

I have been flaking my own oatmeal from oat groats with the flaker that EE sells. It is great but it is hand crank. We are getting alot of exercise.

I would like to see a discussion on the reliable use of safety masks, gloves, etc. I just recently read that N95 masks will not block flu viruses, as we've been led to believe.

I'd say what to do in Tornado's since I'm from Utah & have never been in one. 72 hours kits are always good too.

I'd like to see more information about storage time frames. What conditions are best for long term storage of dry goods and of can or wet goods. The dates on some things are ""suggested use by dates", or are the hard and fast?

I would like to see a discussion board called something like "emergency preparedness for dummies". There are so many of us out there who are just learning and starting our supplies and need good advice. Recipes and ideas could be posted as well, also recipes not only including products that you currently sell but, recipes for things you may can, etc.

I am soooo excited about this new blog! Thanks for getting it rolling!

I would love to see some of your recipes for how to use the emergency foods. I'd think that mixing and adding seasonings would help to create more variety when simply re hydrating can become mundane.

I'd also love to know more about how WE can prepare foods that we have grown in our own gardens!

I would be interested in complete menus that would be drawn from only storage food items. Something that would be nutritionally complete (or nearly)and would be realistic if needed for, say, a week. It could be designed on the idea of a meal for one person, but multiplied for as many as might be in a family. Thank you.

I would like to learn more about cooking with foods storage. I like to be able to cook healthy meals for my family in any event.

Great idea on the Blog! I would like to see an easy to follow guides that addresses common threats, moving to longer duration events.

I know that FEMA and others have materials, but just to read them is a daunting task.

If EE had a protocol for Utility Outage, High Winds, Plan for contacting relatives, Plan for important papers, etc., I could prioritize, plan & train the kids.

I would really like to see a "emergency preparedness for dummies" discussion board. I am learning about gardening, canning, and using some of the tools and recipes that come with some of those. Frankly, I can use all the information I can get. Like what flower budding is what veggie or fruit, etc. Something non-confusing.

I've added this blog to my "favorties" and will check it often. Enjoyed the story about the canned seeds. I have some canned so it is good to know they stay good for so long. May heaven bless everyone's garden this year.

I would like to read about how a large family can be prepared without breaking the bank. Money-saving strategies will help big families be ready for emergencies in the long-term without giving them a financial emergency in the short-term. Also, once the preparedness is complete, how to keep things rotated and fresh would be an interesting topic.

I would like to hear of ideas to keep children busy in an emergency situation.

I would like to see some preparedness information for military families who move frequently. How can we be adequately prepared, yet still be able to pick up and move our entire home sometimes with only weeks notice

I'd love to see some real detail, backed by facts when and if you do put some presentations together. I.E. An example would be answering "all" the questions about water or any issue. Why store barrells on wood? Explain why they should use potable containers only. Why you shouldn't use a standard garden hose. When we have the best water in the World, what is "really" needed to preserve it and for how long will it last?

I like the blog and the site rework.
How about writing on how we can utilize sustainability in preparedness. Recycling and the green initiatives haven't been mentioned much in my preparedness circles.
Being prepared and being concerned about stewardship of resources should work hand in hand.
