This site is an excellent resource- it is very well done and so helpful— attractive too! One thing I would like to see is the projected shelf life on the different products that you carry-( best until dates on the products or your website)

How can you prepare when you're living on a food shelf/food stamp existence? Our family of 5 have no savings, owe tons of money to the IRS and student loans, and have a very small income.

I really like the products you have available and enjoy shopping from your store.
I would like to read a discussion on how quickly you need to use contents of #10 freeze-dried and dehydrated foods once opened. For example, I may want to buy the freeze-dried mozzarella for Friday night Pizza but was wondering if I don't use it all up that night if it will stay fresh for the few weeks following? And do I need to store opened cans in refrigerator?
Thank you, Tara

If history is any indication, we should all be prepared and not wait for the government to act in our behalf. No one expects an emergency, but they come nonetheless. I tell all of my friends about your company and how satisfied I am with it.

I noticed that you sell Iosat Potassium Iodide Tablets.
There isnt alot of information on how much you should have on hand for yourself or children.
It would be a good idea to post some information on what to do in the case of a dirty bomb or any other radiation accident or attack.
Thanks,
AL

when preparing a properly stocked emergency preparedness backpack how much attention should we give to the advent of a pandemic or countrywide or global medical condition as opposed to the essentials such as food, clothing, shelter for a short time frame. what is your opinion as to its impact on what we plan for and have in our kit. Thanks Rich James

I am wondering about the toxicity of plastic buckets seeping into the food storage, especially under less than ideal conditions. Also, storing water is one of my most difficult issues, again in regard to the plastics that one would store it in. How does one keep enough water for all the dehydrated foods that one must keep for a family.
Thanks for a great resource !

I would like to read a discussion about water storage, the choices of containers available, pros & cons of each type of storage, and water filtration methods, what each method filters out, and prices of each.
Is it true that a drop of bleach is no longer recommended to be put into the water being stored? How often should the water be changed?
Are washed out milk containers, apple juice containers, OK? Is it OK to store the water on a bare cement floor? Which filters are for un treated water well water, which for treated city water, which for stream or lake water, which for re-cycled lawn & garden water that we are warned not to drink? (We may have to drink that someday!)
Thank you for the opportunity to possibly win that 3-Day Emergency Kit! Marilyn
