This blog is a great idea… I would love to discuss the issues with water. How to store it – especially when you don't live in a large home? Is there better alternatives than just having barrels of water?

Prepared.com – this is by far my favorite and only stop for my emergency and preparedness supplies. I love getting my catalog and emails. you never know when you will need food storage, water or emergency essentials. But it's a great feeling to have them ready if you ever do.

Also information and hints for water storage "for dummies". Our family loves your products and the blog has great potential. Thank you.

I have a feeling this blog will be great! I am always trying to figure out the best way to keep track of what I have in my storage. It goes in and out by the whole family so I'm always feeling a little behind or out of control when it comes to what we have.

I would like KNOWLEDGE, especially from our more "seasoned" folks out there – secrets that you can't find in books about canning, cooking with the bare basics – things they grew up with – we NEED to SHARE what we know also with the younger generation so that they are just as prepared . . . after all – NO MCDONALDS if the trucking industry collapses!!!!

As a young single adult who doesn't live in a permanent spot, I get overwhelmed with the thought of trying to find places to store food/emergency supplies — not to mention moving it who knows how many times.

I have emergency supplies in my car, I try to buy extra cans of food when I do my grocery shopping, and I save a little money with each paycheck.

Until I have a spot to settle down in, how can I feel like I’m doing all that is needed to be prepared?

Great site as always!
I only saw one book about wilderness medicines. I haven't read it yet so I don't know if it covers wild edible plants. That is also a must know if you are stuck in the wilderness without food. I have one in my back pack that covers edible plants for my area and snares for small game. That would be a great addition.

Your timing is exquiste as are most of the comments that I've already read. I'm from a large family and grew up "living providently" and married a master gardener. We landscape with edibles and plant a garden each year from which we eat, can, freeze, and dehydrate. This past January 2009 I was approached by organizational leaders and asked to teach the people the practices that I live each day. I have a class once a month. Your site will be a nice reference tool for new comers to gain additional and more current information than I might have. Thanks for the link. I've been buying from you since 1980 when I used to be a "group leader".

Your Preparedness Pantry is poised to be a very useful resource for many people from those just beginning their storage efforts to those who have been engaged in preparedness activities for some time. While there are a number of topics I'd like to see addressed and discussed such as:
water storage and purification,
gardening for pleasure and necessity,
making dried milk an everyday guest in the kitchen,
tips for making rotation of storage items an integral part of everyday cooking – that is, using storage regularly – recipes, etc.,
finding sampler kits for groups to experience firsthand freeze-dried/dehydrated storage products before purchasing large quantities
preparedness for people with special needs – dietary, etc.
I hope there will be opportunities for people to easily jump to the areas that interest them – links that send them to information for beginners, water storage, recipes, gardening, experiences with specific products, etc. Blogs are great, but it seems easy to get bogged down with copious amounts of comments and unorganized information. I'll be checking in frequently – glad you've put this together.
