I am interested in learning what items are needed to start a basic 1-year food storage supply and also how to store and rotate water, as in what containers are the best to use and how long it will last.

Congrats on the new section!
Since rotating our stored food is so essential, I think that some information on integrating storage use into everyday meal planning could be very useful.
For example, I throw dry-roasted wheat into soups (whole grain), and use powdered milk mixed into instant oatmeal.
Rochndil, who also bakes whole-wheat bread once a week or so.

I would love to learn more about survival items needed in emergencys. Also putting together 72 hour kits, what type of items should be in the kits. Water purification also would be great…such as how to pick a filter that is good.

I'd like to see more on practical gear, including how-to articles. Much of this stuff is common sense (especially if you've been in SAR or DR for a while), but I'd like to know if there are other ways of employing emergency gear.

I'm excited about the new site. I would like to learn how to use the grains more/other ways other than grinding for flour.
JoMama

Your site has been so helpful to me and people in our church. I especially like all the extra information you have on long term food storage, that other sites do not have. I have purchased your milk, and can't wait to try it, we remember store bought powdered milk that the kids wouldn't drink! I hear yours tastes great. I would like to see #10 cans of breakfast eggs without pork products for those of us who only use beef, chicken, lamb or fish. I would have ordered some of your packs of several cans, but cannot because of the pork in all of them.

I love so many things on your site that I have made an Emergency Preparedness wish list. Anytime there is a holiday I I pull out the list and give my family some ideas of what I would like. I have slowly built up my "essentials" and look forward to more. I would love to hear what some of the favorite products (food and non-food) are of the other customers.
The Atuaia Family
I would like you to talk about water preparedness and storage on your blog.

a rotating food storage menu would be benificial.

Great new blog. I would love to hear what is the best way to store meat in an emergency situation.

I would like to know more about how to get started. I don't have a lot of money to just buy everything and I don't know what is most important etc. So, I would like to know where to start, and what I really need to worry about most, and then I would also like to know more about the grains and such as I garden, so could like I plant them and have them grow? What kind of grains are the different ones(like are they hybrids etc).
Justin
I'm glad I was turned on to the new blog, it looks like a promising place for information about the supplies I already use.

I would like to learn more about the uses and some first-hand experiences with silver solution. And, of course, most anything to do with survival & self-sufficiency is of interest to me.
Great idea from an already great resource; thanks !

I think this is a great site!! Your information is always helpful.
Easy recipes are always welcome!!!
Thanks

Just heard on Youtube that you should not try to store your own stuff like powdered milk, using oxygen absorbers, but to only buy the #10 cans. You agree, and why?
Penny@WickedBroke
Would love to see info on using the powdered food storage items. Also I'd like to see info on including kids in your preparedness plans.

The post I'd like to see is how to determine which foods to store for long term. I'd like to see it include how to ensure that it is a balanced long term diet.

Nice new blog. I would love to see a "Get Started" checklist.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to store bottled water. A case of water weighs alot and it's hard to move all those cases. Any ideas would be appreciated. — LisaAn

I'd love to help you develop some pet preparedness kits. If something were to happen and your pet(s) were in your home with you or in your car, there should be something to assist them as far as not only food/water but injuries, anxiety, etc. Love your site and all the products!!!

Thank you so much for the new blog! I've worked for 30 years to be more self-sufficient. Some years I do better than others and those things that I did when the kids were little, out of necessity, are being relearned. Right now I'm enjoying the smell of oatmeal bread that just came out of the oven. Yummmmm!

I would like a discussion on timely and controlable food rotation.

I watched a movie, "This is Not A Test," which was about being prepared for an emergency and whether or not one can be obsessed with being prepared. It did not actually suggest a solution. It just spoke to the problem. In the movie, some people refused to prepare at all, some people were haunted by possible disasters and preparing for them. It didn't seem that here was a happy medium and I have not found one in my life. I would be very interested in a discussion of this issue as I do not seem to be able to work it out for myself. I would like to know how others deal with both being prepared and having peace of mind. It always seems as though there is more and more one can do to be prepared for myriad disasters and that it is NEVER possible to be prepared enough. When IS enough?

My husband and I would love to learn more about the appropriate quantity of water storage. With the apparent new trend (that we are a part of!) of buying pre-made freeze-dried meals, we realize that we must have extra water to reconstitute our family's food storage. We would love some help figuring out how much extra water we must store.
Thanks for this great resource!
Jan
I have always been very pleased with the products you offer and especially the group specials. They are an economical way to be prepared, and they help us to get others excited and moving along in that direction. I would appreciate information on your blog about what, if anything, we can do to preserve our meat in the freezer if the power is off for a very long time.
Momturtle
I think it would be very useful to hear about various ways that people are organizing their food and other preparedness storage to make it easier to use it on a regular basis and rotate first in first out without reorganizing it every time you add to it or take some out to use. What kind of storage works best to hold the contents of #10 cans after they are opened? Incorporating it into your everyday life is so important – this can be especially true of the grain and other bulk basics usage.
Jennifer
I am in the Relief Society of a single's branch and we have been doing a lot of preparedness but anything that is specific to singles is FABULOUS! Thank you so much!!! JEN

Please address how diabetic people who are managing their blood sugar through diet can stock up on selected preparedness foods. I am a diabetic whose low-carb diet has got me off insulin and two medications in just five months. My blood sugar is now firmly in the normal range, so long as I stick to my diet and exercise, but if I start eating grain and dry beans again, my blood sugar will skyrocket. I am willing to be a tester if you'd like to do some research.
