Thanks for all the good services you provide! I would like to see a general discussion of "what life might be like" in various emergency situations. Knowing what might not be available, and what is impacted by it's loss, helps to think about what you would need to do to survive. For example, being able to stay in my house without all of it's comforts and conveniences is a whole lot different than having to throw something in the car and take off for some other place. If I have to leave, then all of my food storage and rotation skills might not help much.
Karen
I would like to see how others have held a "pack night" or other event to help their wards prepare.
Thanks,
Karen

I would like to see a comparison of all the water long term storage additives on the market and if any of them are actually any good.
Thanks,

We've had a couple of questions about RSS Feeds. We do have a section on the bottom of the left column of the blog that lets you subscribe to our Posts or Comments via Google, Yahoo, etc. Hope that helps.

It is an excellent idea for people to be able to talk about emergency preparedness. In Houston, where I live, we deal with possible hurricanes every summer and it is always a rude awakening to have to rush around to get ready for one of these things. Thanks for a having a place to go to discuss preparedness.

Could you possibly write an article or blog about balancing store-bought foods with storage foods and supplementing with home-garden food?

I would appreciate more information for city dwellers with limited storage space.
How much and what kind of food- how much water?
I also need a guide to stocking medications and first aid supplies as it relates to emergency preparedness and infection control.
You have the most valuable web site on the internet. Thank you!

I love the new blog site. I've; purchased, used, and recommended, the Garden seeds in a can to all my friends they're great!
I look at a lot of preparedness sites on a daily basis for new information. One thing I am always on the look out for is recognizing and using local plants and flowers for foods and medicinal purposes. I hope you enetertain the idea of including references to them as well in your new blog site.
Thank you for all that you have supplied in the past.

I am very interested in vegan food storage. Emergency Essentials has been quite helpful with fruits and vegetables and I would love some tips from others concerning vegan substitutes which would store well and which may be available in the # 10 cans. Soy isn't on my list, but all else vegan is.

Please consider a discussion on large volume water storage in an outside environment. When the"Big One" does hit in California, the water system will go and not be repaired for a long while.
Thanks!

We started food storage in 1999 for Y2K and a lot of our storage spoiled, as we didn't use it. Some of the Items that came with the packages we would never use and it would be great to be able to change the items for some that we would use. (Of course keeping in mind that there is price difference & would pay the difference.)
Great Site to pick brains and get heads up on what is happening.

I would REALLY LOVE an emergency kit. I was just called as the emergency preparedness specialist in my ward and I don't even have a 72 hour kit for myself. It would be great to win this and use it as an example.

… congratulations on your new site … my husband and I have moved from Utah to Maryland to take care of my 90 year old mother … I would like to know the square footage of a sufficient storage area for four adults for one year (I know it's repetitive) … we are surrounded by non-member relatives and neighbors, so do you have handouts that would draw interest to having their own storage area?
Rich
Always glad to see a new preparedness resource for us Stake Leaders. Keep up the great work!

This is great, how about covering things like canning for those who are inept, and other basic concepts

Please post recipes for spice mixes and sauces to spruce up the rice, pasta, etc. in my year supply (homemade versions of Rice-A-Roni, Pasta-Roni, Hamburger Helper, etc.) This will help with the rotation of rice, pasta, spices, etc. in my year supply. Thank you.
