I'm so happy that you are starting this blog ! There are so many topics that relate to preparedness and all need an easy place to go for answers. Besides the ones already mentioned I would like an area for first aid / medical preparedness;dehydration of foods with solar and a really good method to keep track of what you have/need that can also be printed off in a binder format . Thank you so much for your contribution
Stephanie
I would like a cookbook tailored specifically for use with your various preserved food packages. Also, preserved food for pets.

I'm adding you guys to my blog roll. :)

I would like to discuss water purification, food storage, water collection, cooking from your storage, necessary verse important, traveling if necessary, car kits, home kits, home gardens, generators, power resources, guns, canning and do I stay or leave my home in an emergency. I would like to see more tips for beginners on building a pantry and doing it on a budget. Like prioritizing what essentials to start with. This is a wonderful idea and would love to win the kit.

I would like to know what steps could be used to protect the other important members of my family like my cat, my ferret, and my dogs. I've taken a lot of precautions to safeguard the human aspect of my family, but am at a loss for the others. :)

Not a lot of information out there on how and how much fuel to store for emergencies. Also, what effect does ethenol additive have on fuel storage? I have an extra vehicle that I keep a full tank, but notice that if it sits too long, it wont start.
Pat
Most recipes that I see using food storage give instructions for using a stove or oven. How about some info about using food storage with out gas or electricity to cook with?

I would really like to learn how to actually use your products. The food, equipment and different kits that you have available. I have done the dehydration process on some things but not to the extent that your company has. I am very happy with your website and look forward to using your products and information. I am trying to teach the kids how to survive off the land.

I would like a discussion involving the pros and cons of different grinders. I've never used one and now I find myself wondering how to choose the right one for my family.
Kim
We're not big milk drinkers, but do need it for cooking/baking. Your powdered milk is outstanding for this!! It never goes bad so I always have it on hand. BTW, your website is awesome—best place to buy food storage items. Look forward to learning more via this new blog.

I would like to see a discussion on the timelines of most emergencies. What happens during the first few hrs out to the 72 hr mark.
Emily
This is so great to have a place where we can share great ideas. Thank you, Thank you! I love the products and I feel a little more at peace every time I buy more. I am a part of a group that orders every month and I love the monthly speacials. Thanks again!

I am trying to make bread with my wheat supply but am having trouble. If I do 3 to 1 of white to wheat it works alright but whole wheat bread never seems to work for me. I would love to have some help from some experienced bread makers.

A new challenge we are facing is in storing items when we have allergies to gluten, corn and nightshades.

Thanks for expanding your value added service with this blog.
I would like to hear more about grain mills, water purification, and how one will cope without electricity, refrigeration and stoves in worst-case scenarios to prepare one's food storage. I know we can store fuel, but I need more ideas about what fuels to store, how to store them, and how to use them when needed. I am thinking a combination of propane bottles, firewood and a solar oven will be ideal (the first 2 for when it's cloudy.)
Thanks!

My husband and I are older folk, living in NW MA mountains. We have horses, cats and a dog and not much in the way of ideas to accomodate their needs in an emergency. We are fortunate to have a mountain stream on our property, and any information about rendering its water safe for consumption would be most welcomed.
Our process of readiness is just beginning….
Glad you are here!

Along with that – what Emergency Essential products would best assist with that and how. Thanks – Lavon P.S. I Love your products. I bring an empty suitcase to load up every time I come to Utah. :)

I'd like to know information on what to do in case of a pandemic or similar situation. What supplies would we need, other than the normal emergency supplies, is there anything else we would need to have to keep ourselves from getting sick?

What a great idea to start this blog.
I have been a customer for years and
have always loved your products. I know that you all talk about shelf life, but I would like more info about it and ideas about ideal storage conditions.
Thanks -Gary
s.k.i.p.
Love the info! thanks for the help.

I would like to know more about cooking with dried beans. I try to follow the directions on the packages for soaking, but I never seem to be able to get the beans tender. Why is this? I read an article on NPR.org that said something about soaking/cooking the beans in distilled water because the minerals in hard water can toughen the beans. Is this true? If so, it there a way around it? The cost/inconvenience of using distilled water seems to cancel out the economy of using dried beans instead of canned ones.

Hello. This is a great blog. Thanks for the opportunity to be entered to win a "3-day Emergency Kit". I would appreciate a discussion on all aspects of water storage and water purification for families. For example, I wouldn't know what to do if our municipal water was shut off and our family began to run low on our water storage. Thanks again.

I am interested in the various electric wheat grinders and the pros and cons of each. Thanks for a great site.

Would like to see some information about storing your emergency food. Specifically on where/how to store food at optimum temperature on a budget: basement, cellar, well insulated room, other passive-cooling techniques.
In much of Texas it is not possible to have a basement because of the amount of rock directly below the soil. How would you create an economical ~50F environment in which you could store food for greatest shelf life?
Jacob and Rebecca Swonger
I would love to learn what are the most essencial things to do to be prepared. We are on a tight budget right now and I wonder what is the most important.
Ray
How do you prepare for an EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) strike against our country?
Thanks,
