This is a most necessary site considering what may lie ahead in our future. Different lessons may be the way to go, starting with basic food storage. Then you can progress to more lessons covering water purification, gardening, storing seeds, canning, field dressing game and cooking it, how to live without electricity, How to live off the land. Thankyou again for this site.

I would love to see more grain recipes – especially spelt. I bought dozens of grain cookbooks and there's just not a whole lot out there besides wheat & bread recipes. There's got to be more to grains. (And I've got over 40lbs of it so I really should do something with it!)

I believe the blog site is going to have a wealth of information that everyone can use. Since we live where it snows in the winter and is very cold and summers can have many days above 90m degrees, would love to read about food needs and planning for people that must deal with those temperature extremes. Hopefully this will include the nutritional needs due to the different weather effects on the body.

Thanks!

I would love to learn some more information about safely using kerosine as an emergency source (cooking, heating, light, etc.) We've thought of using this if power was out for a very extended period of time, but we're not sure what all goes into it (ventilation, etc.)

thanks!

I would like to read more about safe water storage. I gather it doesn't keep well in the soft plastic bottles in which it is usually sold. Would glass be better? And how long is it safe to keep?

I love your products, tips and new blog! I would love to see more information on storing and preserving garden seeds. I think in this day in age with crime on the increase, it would be helpful to learn more about protecting ourselves in our home and vehicles against possible intruders.

I'd love to see a purchasing plan that suggests items to purchase each month over a period of two or three years that would eventually give one a complete 1 year supply of a variety of essential items along with extras.
Thanks,

wow, this is great! I like the idea of having some place to go to learn how others use the products, what they like, and recipes. My suggestion would be how to use the products in everyday menu planning that would truly be using the rotation system. Thanks for everything. Linda

In regards to important documents, we have fireproof safe. In this we keep notebooks of everything that might need to be grabbed at a moments notice.
Hope this helps others when thinking about documents.

Hi! This is a great and useful addition to survival info on the web. I go to the web site every day and subscribe to yoyur newsletter. I'd like to see if there is a way that customers could purchase a group of items for, say $300 to $600 and pay for it over several months? I believ ther are a lot of us who are in that position due to the extreme economic conditions.
Thanks so much,
BenLyn

I'd like to see a plan for purchasing a little something every month so that after a year, we have a good variety of preparedness items. After two years an even better variety and a good start on a years supply of the most essential items. This plan could stretch out for several years, but when finished, we have everything we need.

I used the supplies on your site to create 2 sets of 2 emergency 72 hour kits for my parents for Christmas. They now have a set each in both vehicles for when they travel for doctor appointments. They love the hand crank flashlight/ cell phone charger. Now other family members want kits for Christmas too. They are a hit and can be used by everyone.

My wife and I have just started to prepare for "things" over the past six months. We would love to hear more about food preparation and storage (canning, dehydration, etc.). We're just trying to think about life in simpler times as we see that we could be thrown back into the 19th century lifestyle pretty easily. Thanks for your site! Blessings!

I would like to see information on sourdough, using that for leavening if/when usual yeast is not available…
How many products can one make from a sourdough starter? Besides "sourdough bread", I mean… can you make pancakes and biscuits and pizza/pita/tortilla dough & other bready foodstuffs from a basic sourdough starter?
Isit enough leavening to support one's freshly-milled whole wheat?

Thank you for setting up this blog.
It is wonderful just to know there are other people out there, with the common sense to be prepared. So many people do not realize the concept of being responsible for your self and your family should include a preparedness pantry. No one knows what the future holds, so it only is logical to be ready for the hard times, so you can, with peace of mind enjoy the good times.

Small sample cans of your freeze dried foods such as chicken and ham. I do a lot of hiking but am hesitant to spend upwards of $40.00 to find out whether or not it is to my liking.
