Ingredients:Textured vegetable protein (soy flour, caramel color), soybean oil, water, salt, sugar, hydrolyzed corn-soy-wheat protein, natural flavorings.
Allergens:Contains soybean and wheat products. Processed in a plant that handles wheat, egg, milk, soybean, peanut, and tree nut products.
Directions:Add 2/3 cup sausage textured vegetable protein to 2/3 cup boiling water. Simmer until water is absorbed, about 10 – 15 minutes. Yields Apx. four servings.
Note: Care should be taken to handle rehydrated textured vegetable protein as you would fresh meat.
Misses the flavor of pork sausage but seeing I don't eat pork products or meat in general it is a viable substitute. With a little doctoring it made good biscuits and gravy. Even my 20 year old son, a picky eater, cleans his plate. Will be ordering more.
