Reviews

wheat, hard white

Only used it for about two years now but no problems with storage and use. Makes good nutritious bread. A couple of slices with eggs and a meat will carry for about five or six hours. Sealed well and you get a good bucket out of the deal. Also cheapest I've found including shipping.

Excellent Wheat

I bought some hard spring wheat from a local health food store. I was very disappointed - low gluten and likely sprouting damage. My bread was a brick. Ordered this wheat. It was much cleaner - immaculate really. Price was comparable. Quality of the wheat was much superior - excellent gluten, no mysterious breakdown during proofing. Best looking wheat berries I have seen. Comparable in quality to [Other Leader Brand]. With superior packing and much cheaper shipping, this is the place to get your wheat berries.

Very Timely

I ordered this on Friday Dec 7 and it was supposedly backordered. Emergency Essentials shipped it out by Monday and I received it on Saturday Dec 15. Excellent turnaround time. Also, when I contacted the company to find out how long it would be backordered the customer service rep not only answered my question but several others I had. EE customer service is one of the best I have dealt with.

Great all around grain!

High in protein like red but white and much sweeter and milder. Great for breads and many dishes like waffles. Good clean wheat. Shipping is cheap compared to other places. Am a repeat customer.

Best thing to store

I love this grain. It makes great breads and even good pasta. You can also just sprout it or soak it and fry it a bit to make a sweet or salty snack. It has real quality and even if I don't use it all, it will still be around for my children to use. Better than stocks.

excellent service / excellent product

First order from EE ... great service. Min shipping charges on a large (heavy) order. Grain is very clean and good quality. Cost is better than do-it-yourself esp. when you factor in cans, mylar bags, O2 absorbers. Cheapest local grain prices I could find(Whole Foods) was 90cents/lb. Shipped grain from EE was only about $1/lb. Huge savings on the hassle factor. I will be a return customer.

Additional Info
42 lbs of Hard White Wheat packaged with an oxygen absorber in a sealed metalized food grade bag that has been placed inside a food grade plastic bucket with a gasket seal making it ideal for long-term storage.

Hard wheat is produced in areas that have dry temperature climates. The kernels are hard in texture, small, red, and have a strong gluten. Gluten is what gives wheat cohesive strength and allows it to stretch, expand, and retain gases as fermenting dough expands. This is excellent for making hearty whole wheat loaves of bread or to use in recipes as an extender for red meat. Hard white winter wheat contains a more delicate flavor than the hard red wheat and can be used to make light and fluffy bread, rolls, and scones. It can also be used in recipes as an extender for white meat. Hard white wheat is high in protein and fiber.
