Best Veggie Taco meat

I've tried every type out there in the "Meatless" world to find a sub for beef taco's. THIS IS IT! My husband and I loved this product and this will be our go to taco meatless meat from now on!! The bits are small when dried, add water (I added a little less for a firmer texture) and they double in size. After I rehydrated the meat, I put it in a skillet and browned it a bit, just wonderful.

I'm a vegetarian and this stuff is great! I not only use it for tacos but in chili too. Just be careful not to add too much and add it dry so it absorbs the flavors.

I had this for my wedding's taco bar, and everyone loved it! I had a lot left over and have been putting it in all of the Mexican food I make. It lasts for ever, it's incredibly easy to make, and it tastes so good! I am a pescetarian, so it is so nice to have substitutes for meat that actually taste good.

Very good

I have had this in my long term for many years. Now, as I am 61, I am starting to use some of my long term, and opened a can of this the other day. YUM YUM! After a dozen soft tacos in the past few days, I give this stuff a 10*. Pleasing to look at, and taste is fine. I do eat meat, but having this on hand is definitely a Plus.

Great product

Bought this to try out since I don't eat meat. It tastes and looks just like beef, not bland at all! My husband can't tell the difference between this and regular taco meat.

Great Product

This is an amazing product! We tried it and absolutely fell in love. This Taco Mix tastes better and costs much less than the TVP we were buying at the grocery store. A great product for any prepper (especially a vegetarian one.)

Too salty to get 5 stars

This is very good ground beef substitute for use in tacos or other recipes which require taco seasoned beef (enchiladas, burritos). However, it is too salty so take that into consideration with any recipe. Also, it takes longer than the two minutes suggested on the label to properly rehydrate. It can use a good 10-15 minutes. If used sooner than that, it will have little bits that crunch. This can be good if you're trying to fool meat eaters, as it will feel like some bone got ground into the meat! Because 5 stars means there is no room for any improvement, I can't go any higher than 4 stars for this otherwise great product. I hope they will revisit the recipe in the future, because you can always add salt, but not much you can do when it is too salty.

Fooled a Texan

I ordered taco and sausage tvp for myself and decided to try to convert my neighbor. I'm pleased with the products myself and my neighbor asked for more of the "taco stuff". It is that good.

Great product! I'm ordering more. You can add to meat to make it stretch or use it on its own. Very surprised how good this is.

Vegan's Delight!

Like someone else said - Wow! This is such a smart item to have on-hand, and the texture really does resemble ground beef. I've used it to make my first vegan casseroles for guests - and everyone remarked on the Vegan eating so much beef. Very good - add some dried onions - and again - wow!

One of the foods you wont have to worry about rotating. You will use it up BEFORE an emergency. Fast, easy and delicious. Absolutely cannot tell it from "real" taco meat when used on tacos, nachos, burritos, etc. Makes alot!

Wow! We love Tacos and all Mexican food. This nails that authentic south of the border flavor. Great in all types of dishes. Will always be on my shelf.

Taco mix is excellent

This taco mix is super easy to make and tastes great. I fixed it for my Dad without telling him it was not meat, and he couldn't tell the difference. As long as you eat it as taco replacement, you will not notice a difference. Eating it plain may make it tougher to disguise it. Not greasy like burger. I love it.

I thought it needed more spice and a little firmer texture but in a taco, chili, or burrito you good to go.

I was a little concerned that it would taste to much like freeze dried food, but it doesn't at all.
