Directions: Bring to a boil 2 quarts of water. Add 1 tsp salt and if desired 1 tbsp oil. (Prevents sticking). Add 1/2 lb spaghetti to briskly boiling water. Replace lid on pot and bring water back to a rolling boil as quickly as possible. When cooked to desired tenderness (10-11 minutes) quickly drain. Spaghetti should be blanched 2-3 times to wash off the starch.
