Great Item!

We use this a lot in a form of "Dirty Rice" with bean sprouts added. It is even better than when you use ground beef!

It's also great added to refried beans for tortillas and in many other dishes.

Highly recommend by us~

Great!

Purchased a few cans for emergency food storage and opened one can to try out. Knowing a prepackaged skillet helper dinner would be am easy meal to fix during an emergency, I prepared that for dinner last night and added this for ground beef substitute. My family could not tell the difference except for the meat pieces had a slightly different shape than browned ground beef. This is a winner in my book! Will be buying more; for emergency food storage and to keep in the kitchen for an easy dinner.

Surprisingly good

Had a can of this in storage for over a year and decided to try it. Per the instructions, I boiled it for 2 minutes first then added it to some rehydrated potato slices and a can of cream of potato soup. Then simmered for 15 mins. It has a beef flavor and similar texture and overall it tasted pretty good.

Great Stuff

We purchased this item due to my health and the inability to consume red meat. Our first use was to make sloppy joes and they were delicious. I could not tell the difference. I along with the rest of my family were surprised. Our next adventure will be lasagna; hopefully; later this week. We'll need another can before long. I'm sure.

A Great Product

We recently purchased this product and found it to very good. We have used it in Tacos and our own recipes for skillet dinners made from scratch. I am impressed by the taste and texture. Very pleased.

First Time TVP User

First, you should know that I am a first time TVP user. With that in mind, here is my experience using this: First dish: chili. This came out well. Both of my picky eaters liked the chili. Second dish: burritos. Prepared with packaged taco seasoning. My son did not like. My daughter liked it and commented that she liked the "beans" I added (i hadn't added beans).
Bottom Line: This is an acceptable meat substitute. The texture is more "bean-like", which would be expected since this is a soy product. It seems to be better in dishes like chili, where the beef is not the star of the dish, rather than tacos. I am planning on trying in lasagna. I will be ordering more for emergency storage, but will also continue to order freeze-dried ground beef for "stand-alone" dishes.

Good as ground beef

I recently tried your Beef TVP in my homemade spaghetti sauce it was a hit. My husband and daughter loved it. They didn't realize it was a totally a vegetarian meal.

Good add-in

I didn't even want to try this at first but went ahead and added it in some chili, 50% TVP and 50% beef. I let everything simmer according to the directions and it was actually great. We have also mixed it 50/50 for tacos and again it was a winner. We will continue to use it as a ground beef extender. I haven't tried it by itself so I can't comment on that.

What a surprise!

This product is very useful in many dishes and higher quality than you can get at the store. Enchiladas, stroganoff and chili. All have come out great, with a very pleased family. We have used TVP products for many years and this is the best I have found. I'll be buying more of this.

Great sub for hamburger!

I've used this, so far, in lasagna and in stroganoff hamburger helper, and it was just as good as browned hamburger. My family could not tell the difference ...and no greasy frying! Directions call for too much water. I used 1 cup of TVP to 1 cup of water and it yielded 1 1/2 cups browned "hamburger". I plan to stop frying hamburger and use this instead from now on!

Tastes Great!

I am a vegetarian and use name brand soy and vegetable protein substitutes for real meat in my everyday cooking. After using this product beef tvp tonight in replacement of the frozen tvp I normally buy at the grocery store I was very impressed. My kids did not notice a difference. I think that we may actually even like this better! Thank You
