Let's face it; this is just FUN!
I'm not going to lie; I bought this product because I had a craving for some delicious "astronaut ice cream" and didn't want just one teensy package from the camping store.
This was definitely not intended for food storage, though I am sure it would be a great addition (if it stays on your shelf that long!)
I thought that this was a truly wonderful product, especially because there were 14 packages in the can. For the price (compared to single serve), it is an amazing value.
My toddler doesn't like chocolate, so I gave him the vanilla and strawberry pieces in a paper bowl. I loved that it was drip free!
I had ordered freeze-dried chocolate ice cream in the past and had the middles somewhat chewy, but this arrived (and stayed) in near-perfect condition.
The ONLY possible "con" is that freeze-dried ice cream always seems to come already broken, which is kind of a bummer. Unfortunately, I am not sure there is a solution, nor have I ever gotten any that wasn't broken at least some, regardless of the brand.
Overall, I would say this is a definite YES. I ordered two more cans, which are (*sniff*) actually going in the food storage, but out of sight so I can't just pop one open. LOL

i love the Neapolitan freeze dried ice cream slices. You will not find them any cheaper. you can buy the ice cream sandwichs only at walmart...they sell for $2.49 a piece. If you order them from this website, they are less than HALF of that.
The only reason I only have 4 stars instead of 5 is because even though i dont mind them being broken up,i do not understand why they are slit packaging. Mine took about 10 days to get here...not too bad, just wanted them sooner! haa

I LOVE thse ice cream slices! I didn't realize they would be in little pieces per slice - but since I break off small pieces and then "suck" on them - it doesn't really matter. I can't believe I can have ice cream in my food storage! It's not cheaper than buying ice cream - but the convenience is great! Everyone in my family likes them!

These ice cream sandwiches are great. You will not find a better price anywhere on-line either. Customer service very helpful and polite.

Comes with slit paper packaging - and as others said, they are broken up but I just pop a "piece" and let it melt in my mouth. After sucking on the whole serving (1 sandwich) I feel full and can resist other sugars for the afternoon! Not everyone in my family likes them - anyone not liking the melting sensation in their mouth won't like them. But that just means I always have them for my own treat! I'm ordering more today!

The Best On The Market
These are the BEST freeze-dried ice creams I've ever had and I have been eating freeze dried ice cream for decades. As for all being broken, that they are. I've never had one of ANY brand that wasn't. That just makes them easier to eat. Another plus...no ice cream brain freeze.

Melt in your mouth treats! 4 stars only because, while they were well packed, I didn't find a single slice that wasn't broken.

I bought some of these not expecting to like them very much, but my whole family loved them! My 6 year, 4 year old, and my husband devoured what I had. Next time, I'll have to hide them on they'll never make it into long term storage! Definitely a must for the family with a sweet tooth. :)

My husband and I tried these after seeing them in an outdoor store. They taste just like ice cream with a little crunch if you don't let it "melt" on your tongue. We will be getting more!

These are really good. They melt in your mouth and really have an ice cream taste - even creamy. We are definitely going to add these to our food storage.

these taste so good. I was a little bummed that each wrapper packaging was sliced open.

These are wonderful. Don't let anyone tell you they taste like cardboard. If you let a piece sit on your tongue for a few seconds...they melt in your mouth. My girlfriend's 3 year old couldn't get enough. I will buy more for LTS.
