small can vs. big can

I ordered a case of the large size cans while they are on sale. I also ordered a small size can to try, to see if I wanted to order another case to store.

I was very pleased with the taste and texture of the beans in the small can. They were cut a little smaller than I expected, but tasted great.

When I was putting the larger cans away, they sounded almost like there were crumbs in the can. I decided to open a can, just to be sure they were okay.

There were no crumbs, but the beans in the larger can were little more than 1/2 the size of the ones in the "try me size" can.

I don't know if they were from different batches, but if you like a little longer bean, you might want to go with the smaller size cans.

Will be buy more big cans, even though they contain smaller beans.

{Response from Emergency Essentials - You bring up a good point terry and it merits some discussion. In our efforts to keep items more readily available for purchase, we often find multiple suppliers to meet customer demands. While doing so, we strive very hard to find very batches that are very close in flavor and quality, but the available produce often has variation in cut size from batch to batch. If ever you receive a product from us that does not meet your satisfaction, we want you to let us know about it. We're committed to taking care of you with every purchase.}

Great beans

My wife and I started buying some freeze-dried stuff back in 08. We've been through several cans of these green beans and in my opinion I like them better than canned beans. They are firmer and have more flavor. A little water and a pat of butter and you're good to go.

Pretty Good

I bought a few cans of these when they were on sale and decided to go ahead and open one. After reading the glowing reviews, I was just a little bit disappointed. They really are just like fresh beans. But I guess I'm just not a huge fan of the fresh beans. I prefer the mushy canned stuff. So, for my personal taste, these were just okay. Fresh out of the can, taste was exceptional but the texture was a little firmer than I was expecting (I was expecting puffy cheetoes and there were more like...kettle cooked potato chips?) I definitely won't turn it away when the SHTF....but would I use it for everyday eating? Personally, I wouldn't.

very tasty green beans

I just finished a can of freeze dried green beans from another company, so I opened a can of the Provident Pantry beans. Out of habit, I tasted one, right out of the can, and was really surprised at how good they taste. It was almost like eating one I'd just picked out of the garden! I've been giving my dog rehydrated green beans without cooking them, but he loves the Provident Pantry beans still dry. WOW!

Very good

We served these as a side dish, just as we would have canned or frozen beans from the store. These had same flavor and color -- very good. The texture isn't the "smooth" skin of most store-bought, but rougher as those we've grown in our garden. I recommend these.

Ultimate convenience

These are the tastiest and most convenient food in my pantry. You can cook up as little or as much as you want and they taste just like fresh picked bean - great in soups, rehydrated in casseroles or right out of the can. We love them.
