Very Versital Product

We are working on our food storage and tried other company's products only to be very disappointed in quality/price they were very misleading! I only buy from Emergency Essentials now! This product and this company (EE) sell very cost effective food with very honest info about each item they sell! I was impressed with this cabbage and surprised it could be dried and remain true to it's fresh counterpart, I always read the ingredient's prior to making a purchase due to some household dietary needs. the presence of glucose was not a issue and IMHO a better alternative to white sugar, the need to add a form of sugar I do not fully understand but must have been a necessary additive to process the Cabbage.

{Response from Emergency Essentials - Thanks for the review Saboken. There is glucose added to the cabbage to prevent oxidation, without it the cabbage would immediately turn brown, so you are correct.}

Great addition to my storage

A small amount goes a long way! Makes great coleslaw. Tastes fresh and better than the stuff in the tubs at the deli counter!!

I just received and tried this product and am very disappointed. It was apparently soaked in sugar water before being dehydrated. Maybe this is for color retention or to retard spoilage. The result is unappetizing sugared cabbage. After rehydrating, you can strain the cabbage and dump the sugar water but you also lose a lot of the cabbage flavor. The cabbage also remains somewhat sweet. Is this ok? Think of opening a store bought can of spinach and putting into a pan to heat up. Now add a little salt, pepper, butter, and 2 or 3 teaspoons of sugar! Yeah, sugar. Not so good. Still, if you had nothing to eat, then found this, you wouldn't mind it too much. I won't buy anymore, however.

So excited to get cabbage!

I've searched and asked for cabbage for some time now, and here it is! I ordered 1 can, to try it, and just finished a serving! Wonderful sweet cabbage. A touch of butter, salt and pepper, and it was delicious! I use cabbage in a lot of dishes and even though I grow some...it's not with me all year round. This re-hydrated beautifully, just as per the directions, and in about 5 minutes, 2 tablespoons of cabbage turned into a little over half a cup of fresh tasting, wonderful smelling cabbage. Now to order more, in quantity to save a little money. GOOD STUFF!
