The 0.2-micron ceramic filter element is effective against bacteria and protozoa, including giardia and cryptosporidium. The carbon reduces chemicals and tastes for better tasting water.

- Saturday, August 28, 2010 Excellent Water Filter Reviewed By: Matt (Eagle Mountain, Utah) I've owned several Katadyn water filters but the Katadyn Combi is the best of those I've used. It has performed flawlessly under a variety of conditions and the water always tastes very good. No one in my family has experienced any problems with intestinal parasites or other "bugs" either. Nothing gets through the silver-embedded ceramic filter. The charcoal filter is the only thing that has to be changed out every six (6) months or so depending on use and it makes the water taste so much better. I give the Katadyn Combi 5 Stars. It is a must for emergency preparedness.
