Overall Rating: Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers Sort Reviews: Newest | Oldest | Highest Rating | Lowest Rating - Monday, August 25, 2008 kids would like it Reviewed By: richard (sonora, ca) This cheese blend is just that a blend and as such the taste is rather mild; pleasant enough, so that kids would most likely enjoy it. but to an adult taste, this could be, as it was to us, rather bland. we had bought before, dried chedar cheese...which was full bodied and flavorful. This blend has a fair amount of milder white-ish cheese, perhaps provalone or mazzerala (sp); which by their nature are relatively tasteless.
the product when reconstituted really needed to be power blended to get rid of lumps. in the end after that it was creamy, we used milk, had a nice consistency and texture and decent color. i was hopeing that the flavor would be more intense, along the lines of chedar; but that certainly was not the case.
our first use was as mac and cheese; plesant but lacking in flavor. over popcorn it was again, pleasant but mildish. kids will take to this mild tatses i would think.
we will add real chedar when we want to have a more robust flavor. we will use it more as a base to which other things will be added to pump up flavor. I would considering the lack of flavor buy it again, but would like to see chedar added to the selection, that i would buy if it were anything like the dehydrated cheddar we had experienced. - Tuesday, April 01, 2008 Cheese Blend Is Best Reviewed By: Patsy (Mesa, AZ) Just got this cheese and to say it like my kids do. This is better than the stuff that comes with the store mac and cheese (in a box)...
It is so much better to cook with and the flavor is great. Mix it in a pasta salad and you don't have to worry about adding cube cheese.
I am going to order more of this great cheese blend. Read More Reviews
