Just wonderful

I loved this product, the taste was wonderful and there are so many things you can do with it, I tried it in making bread, which was really good, I mixed it thinner and added it to reciepes with pasta, plus I used it a lot in desserts the calories and fat are way lower than store bought Sour Cream. To me this tasted like when I was a kid and they made homemade sour cream.

Tastes like the real thing!

I like to make bread and pizza dough, using a bread machine. Bread machine recipes often call for powdered milk, so I substitute sour cream powder. This is because it adds a nice tang to the dough and the acidity helps the yeast to function. I have tried some other brands of sour cream powder, but none can hold a candle to this one. They all mix well enough, but others barely have any sour taste at all. Provident Pantry Sour Cream powder had a nice, tart taste that sour cream ought to have. And, because it is more sour, my doughs rise like crazy!! My breads and pizzas have never been this good. (And they were pretty good.) You can also mix it into sauces or reconstitute it.
Its only problems are: 1)The proportions they suggest for reconstituting do not work well. I found that 5 parts powder to 3 parts water work best.
2)The can was difficult to open. Since it got a it mangled in teh process, I had to transfer the product to another container.
3)It only comes in a large can. A trial size would be good for people who do not want to commit to a large amount of a product they have not tried before.
On the whole, it is an excellent product and I will mmost defilitely buy it again.
