I've had MRE's before but it never hit me how "normal" they taste until one night I didn't feel like cooking and thought tonight was as a good a night to start cycling my emergency kit provisions. My family thought it tasted pretty good and even suggested getting a few more flavors to try out.

I love MRE's they taste a hell of a lot better than those protein bars. They are a fully cooked meal with vitamins and minerals added. If you have never had one and want to sample it before you decide to add them to your emergency supplies or use them for camping. Try the Chile macaroni, spaghetti or ravioli MRE's. You wont be disappointed. They taste just like a home cooked meal and have a shelf life of 10 years. BUT there are one or two you wont like. At least for me anyways. one was a black bean burrito and the other was the captain chicken. The chicken one tasted like breaded cardboard and the burrito was like biting in a bar of lard. All the others I have had were great.

This website was excellent. I am a seinor patrol leader for a boy scout troop and we need easy, quick, and clean meals. This is what I am looking for.
