Overall Rating: Write an online review and share your thoughts with other customers Sort Reviews: Newest | Oldest | Highest Rating | Lowest Rating - Sunday, April 15, 2012 Adequate Reviewed By: Bill (Saylorsburg, PA) Bought a couple over the years and feel it’s a pretty decent device. I’m not part of Myth Busters or the Consumer Product Division and subject them to exhaustive testing so my opinion is just that, my opinion. Whistle is loud as most of the other survival whistles out there, no decibel measurements. Mine had peas in it and everyone says remove them so they don’t freeze up, so I did. If you’re in conditions where the Pea would free, you’re probably in over your head, if it does put it in your armpit. Whether a whistle with or without a pea attracts more attention is subjective at best. Match store is watertight. I always remove the O-ring and wipe it down with Armor-all to keep it flexible. Still I wax dip matches. If you use it for a pill container and the medication is critical I’d put it in a small zip pill bag too. The Mirror under the cap might not be big enough to attract attention, I’d like to test it outside and see, but the sides of the cap are going to act like a lens shield. Mine is a reflective foil sticker, not a real mirror. The Compass is adequate. The Fire Steel insert is small, I’ve produced sparks big enough to start dry tinder, but it's not a substitute for a Swiss Steel or Magnesium Block type that will rain spark. All-in-All an okay device. - Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Good Reviewed By: but it IS cheap... (Aaron K, Kuttawa) aaron.kunkel@yahoo.com Read More Reviews
