This will take practice to learn how to use effectively if you have never used one before, But I am sure with time we will get better and faster. Would have given 5 stars if it were easier to handle, it's size is compact which makes it mildly difficult for large hands but easy to carry.

Love P-38 Can Opener

I owned my original P-38 since 1962, acquired during the Cuban missile crisis in a pack of emergency packets. I was a young child in an Air Force family. I recently lost it, having had it for over 45 years. Once you become proficient this can opener works better than any other compact can opener that I have ever used. I've tried the kind on knives and the P-51. Both are more awkward and do not cut the can top as cleanly. The blade on the P-51 is too big and so tends to leave large sharp edges and the knife can openers are much harder to use and do not leave as clean an edge as the P-38. It does take a little practice to become proficient but not much. I have used it as my primary can opener for most of my life.
