Our family LOVES this applesauce!

I'm writing this review because I was quite surprised to see the negative review, posted 2/12/14, and thought others may appreciate a more balanced view.

Especially for an emergency situation (the purpose of emergency preps), this product is great! It tastes good, has NO artificial sweeteners, has extra vitamin C, has a long storage life, and is easy to eat.

If you want home-canned applesauce, then get that somewhere else. Zapplesauce, however, is an excellent product!

Run away.

I have been canning applesauce from local drops for 2 decades but I thought it would be reasonable to try the "MRE" cinnamon Zapplesauce. Do not waste your money. It has at least 11 grams added sugar (30grams per 4.5oz compared to regular zapplesauce of 19 grams). In addition, the taste is downright unpleasant. My kids do not like it. I do not like it. My wife does not like it. I have tried many types of apples canning as well as many combos and methods...many successes and some failures...this is about at the top of bad tasting applesauce. For a bug out bag or a mobile survival situation, you probably do not want to spend your hard-earned money on this, especially at the regular price of $1.80 a pouch. I bought the group special at $0.60/pouch and was not happy. At $0.40/oz you can buy something that tastes better, lasts longer, and is more healthy
