Delicious breakfast option, read the label!

I give this product a full 5 stars because it is one of the only breakfast prepared meals that actually taste good and dont leave me feeling like crap after I eat them.
Please read the ingredients label though. This stuff contains a lot of preservatives and chemicals. I only use this for for rare occasions when I need a quick and easy meal before a long climb/backpack. Otherwise I would stick with making my own from OvaEasy and other FD ingredients that I can add myself without all the fillter, preservatives and crap.

Great Product

I have tried the pouch and it was fantastic! I like Nicole's Suggestion of adding the cheese of your choice. In fact I like MH 3 FD cheese combo even better! Also a dash of Butter powder and my ever favorite Frank's Hot Sauce or your your fav hot sauce to top it off after serving!!! Also try adding a bit of garlic or onion salt to the water when boiling it.

Only one mild warning: Use the HOTTEST water to prepare and if it's not boiling add a few minutes more soaking time or you will be very unhappy with the "texture" when eating.

No more doubts! It's a winner!

I'm a big breakfast person and have read about the Breakfast Skillet for months now. Always a doubter would scratch my head and think it was to good to be true. Nothing is as good a scratch.
Well, I finally bought a can and it is delicious! I eat it plain, with Salsa or with cheese. Wrapped or unwrapped it is great.
I thought at first I had made a bad decision when I opened the can and saw the contents, but don't be deceived! I followed the directions a lack wit could follow I realized my fears were unfounded.
Thank you days of sitting in the drive thru for sausage burritos id over!

Where's the cheese?

This is good but I obviously didn't read the label well before I ordered it. There's no cheese in this , which is just wrong for a breakfast entree like this. It would be easy for MH to include some dehydrated cheese shreds into the mix. (hint). But the flavor of this product is wonderful! There's a lovely smokiness to it that I wasn't expecting. I still had some crunchy hash browns upon eating so I will add more water than stated in the future. And this is the only MH entree that I've had to dump out into a bowl to mix up before measuring out. All the eggs came to the top and the hash browns all congregated in the bottom. There seems to be more protein in this entree and a stated serving size made me comfortably full, instead of double portions like most MH products. This is a great breakfast addition to our long term storage and we will order more. (along with cheese shreds...)

{Response from Emergency Essentials - Thanks for the Noelle. Not only are eggs very filling by themselves, but this pouch has a lot of food in it to boot. Great flavor, extremely satisfying, and easy preparation makes it a winner. P.S. we have FD shredded cheeses in several varieties sold separately for your next round.

Seriously, Pretty Tasty.

I can't tell you how shocked I was with the flavor. My college daughter was home for the weekend and we had a scheduled power outage that was going to last the whole day. I decided to try my emergency preparedness prowess and started the morning with the MH Breakfast Skillet. Followed the directions: super simple. And in ten minutes we opened the pouch - completely expecting to have to pinch our nose to eat it. But, we loved it. I think it was just a little more than the two of us could eat, but I know that my college son and husband, (who was at work during this experiment), would have eaten the whole pouch by themselves. It's actually a lot of food. I gave it a rating of a 4 because there was quite a bit of small pieces at the bottom from settling. But, overall, I will be getting more. Probably in the #10 size.

Truly Fantastic

I have tried a lot of freeze dried foods. Sometimes they are great and sometimes they are a major disappointment. The breakfast skillet is one of the best freeze dried foods I have tried. It is super easy to make, and the flavor is off the charts amazing. Definitely something to have in your food storage.

Praying for a dented can...

Praying for a dented can so I have to open it and eat it (just kidding EE), hoping EE did not sell out of this product, I even waited until we placed an order to write this review just to protect the stock of Breakfast Skillet at EE. This is a must have in the pantry. We tried it out of the pouch first and it was really, really good. Excellent product from MH. We are NEVER disappointed with any MH or EE products.
