ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Marlene Petersen has demonstrated a love and extraordinary talent for simple, yet tasty, as well as gourmet cooking for over 40 years. Her love for cooking was kindled during childhood, when given the responsibility to cook daily for ten siblings. Since then Mrs. Petersen's experience has included managing and supervising others in restaurants, running a private catering service for six years, and then starting her own professional catering service in 1978. Her talent continues to delight the palate of many to the present. Mrs. Petersen is the mother of 12 children. She has managed and taught practically in her daily cooking without foregoing excellence and taste. She has instructed many church, private and public groups on simple, practical and gourmet cooking. She has also instructed and shared her ideas with these same groups on food storage methods and use. As an author, Mrs. Petersen shares her talent for integrating dry foods and home canned products into daily cooking. She offers an excellent repertoire of cooking techniques using these two food types.
