Great radio - I use it all the time. Compact and performs like a radio several times it's size. It's a keeper.

Received radio and first thing was tuner dial was tilted. Radio still worked so I kept it. Tuner is very hard to use. very hard to get one station (on any band) to stay tuned in for very long. Drift all the time. Would not buy again. Maybe the digital radios are better?

I've had this radio for a little over 4 years now. It's been left in the car for the most part as an emergency radio. It's been in -5 deg F temperatures in the West Virginia Appalachian mountains and up to 100 deg F at the shore of Virginia. It's fairly beat up because I keep it in the trunk but it keeps running. Shortwave reception is very good and so are FM and AM. I had another name brand which kind of drove me bonkers with drift. But this Kaito, while the speaker isn't as good (but very audibile) this Kaito is less frustrating with keeping signal. If I were to buy now I'd probably try the Kaito KA500. But you can't go wrong this this Kaito. Too bad the analog TV doesn't work anymore since TV broadcasts in the US went digital. So this radio is a bit dated now. Very durable though!

I use this radio every day!
I listen to this radio daily and often carry it with me wherever I go. I plug it in inside and use the battery power very often. They last a long time. It is very lightweight and I can take my favorite talk radio shows with me everywhere!

NOTE: like most rechargeable batteries, this must be charged every 3-6 months. After long periods of inactivity, the battery chemicals begin to crystalize. It is very similar to a car battery that, when not started for months, will no longer work.
