I pulled into a national forest campground late one afternoon on my motorcycle to set up my camp site. All firewood there was soaked, as it had been raining off and on for about the last three days. Ten minutes after I had set up my site, I gathered my firewood and put it into the fire ring. Five minutes after getting two fire sticks out and breaking them in two and placeing them around the fire wood, my fire was going. It surprised me that I had the only camp fire at the campground and that no one ever came over and asked me how I did it.

Great, once you get it going.
These fire starters are ok for simple camping needs, however they can be difficult to light in certain weather conditions. Once they get going they last a good amount of time - Maybe 4-8 minutes, depending. I bought the same starters about 6 years go and didn't use them till last summer, still worked so they store real well. These starters would have 5 stars, but they take forever to light.
