does what it says
These candles are great to have around and I've used them on many occasions. Ironically, the power hasn't gone out since I've had them, but great for "mood" lighting or ambient lighting outdoors. I purchased the box of 12 & gave out as gifts for Christmas -all well received. For those who are intent to validate everything - Some friends monitored theirs burn time to see how long it would last - they said it lasted well over 100hrs, but I believe evironmental conditions (wind, temp, etc) could be a factor, thus the 100 hr claim.

These are great
These things are great. They sit forever on a shelf or in a trunk until you need them them without evaporating or spilling. When you need them, the wick can be pulled up enough to make a small cooking fire. Or you can just use them as candles for 3-5 days. They DON'T GET REALLY HOT AT THE WICK EXIT! I was afraid they would melt/weaken there. Not at all. Fantastic design and would still be a great deal at $9.99 each.

Gotta Love It
I purchased two of these to try out. I must say they are amazing. When you first light them, the flame isn't all that large. You can, however, extend the wick to make the flame large enough. You will need some tweezers and a lighter or matches. First light the wick and allow it to burn for 1 min and then extinguish the flame. Then take the tweezers and inch up the wick. This is how I extended the wicks. For some reason, the wicks would not extend unless it has first been burnt. Overall great product and I plan on purchasing some more in the coming months!!

love these lights
For the price, you can't go wrong. Same item is $10.99 at amazon! I bought a dozen of these when they were on sale. I can rest easy now knowing I have over 1000 hours of emergency light. I like the fact that the wick can be pulled out for brighter light. Just order some already!

Light in the darkness
In the recent April 27th devastating tornado outbreak in Alabama, power outage was massive. I had a case of these 100 hour candles and was able to share them with my family. When there is no light anywhere to be seen, these candles offer light and comfort. Our power was out for days and we were so glad to have these. I already have another case on order and will be ordering more.

Works well enough
Works well for what it does. I wish it was a bit brighter though for reading; unlike tiara I haven't been able to figure out a way to get more wick out.

more light please
one of my daughters is scared to pieces when the power goes out during storms. I keep one in her room and she feels safe. If you need MORE light than the perfectly effective glow than just raise the wick a little, it will light a large area very well. had 7 days without power and used half this candle burning it all night.

If you have children then these are a must to have on hand. The light that this candle gives is just right for any kind of emergency. Or, if you want to just have a relaxing low light evening this is the item for you. They are well worth the money and you will not regret getting these great candles. My kids like the red ones because of the glow. I like them because it keeps people calm when the lights are out.

100 Hour Emergency Candle
I have these attractive little candles placed strategically around the house for emergency use, and they have served me well on numerous occasions when I have had an extended power outage. They give enough light to allow me to move around the house comfortably, and I have yet to use one up. I like them so well, and they are such a good bargain, that I distributed them to my kids for their emergency preparedness as well.
