Whole Wheat Blender Pancakes Recipe

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 C
Dehydrated Fat-Free Milk
1 C
Whole Wheat Kernels
1
Egg
1 tsp
Salt
1/3 C
Cooking Oil
1 tsp
Baking Powder
2 tsp
Sugar or Honey

PREPARATION

1. In blender, combine milk and whole wheat kernels. Blend for 2-3 minutes.

2. Add remaining ingredients and blend 1 minute more. Note: Some wheat blends thicker than others. You will need to adjust liquid if batter is too thick..

Variations: Buttermilk Pancakes: Substitute 1 cup buttermilk for regular milk. Rolled Oats: Substitute 2 1/3 cup rolled oats for whole wheat.

Works Fine

The recipe works fine but you would get better results from grinding your wheat first. I substituted Powder Whole Egg and light olive oil. I would like to see one of these recipes using shortening powder instead of oil. I originally tried making this with a stick blender but had to go buy a regular blender when the wheat kernels proved to much for the stick blender. Even the full size blender had to work. The 3 minutes blending time is a must. It would have taken me about a minute to grind it to a finer texture. Overall the pancakes came out good. Texture flavor everything was what I expected.
