First MRE

I ordered this off of your Amazon storefront. It was my first taste of any MRE. I bought them last minute for a BOB for a trip I had to go on for work. Now that I am back and didnt need them for any Emergencies I figured I would see how they taste. If all MREs taste this good I will switch over to eating them for lunch when I am in a hurry and don't have time to make something before work. Thanks for posting all of the nutrition facts, very helpful as I am diabetic and try to have meals with more protein than carbs. Good stuff.

Tastes like chili

Doesn't taste like taco meat. If you want tacos, get the Spicy Beef Crumbles. Like others have said, it tastes like Hormel chili. I happen to love Hormel chili. This stuff is good if you want chili.

Sucks big time

I just received my first order of assortment of MRE's. The beef stew was great, this stuff sucks. It looks like, smells like and taste like Hormel chili, until you have a few bites, then it gets worse.

Very Good.

I enjoyed these. I got a three day meal pack and a couple of these were included. Reminded me of Hormel chili in the can. Ate it on the MRE tortillas, of course.

Additional Info
MRE is the acronym for Meals-Ready-to-Eat. These pouch meals were originally designed for our soldiers in the U.S. Military. These dishes are precooked and can be eaten cold or heated. Great attention goes into developing the recipes for MRE’s.

MRE entrees are convenient to use. They are also packed in durable, individual triple-layer foil and plastic pouches. Under proper storage conditions, they have a long shelf life. Preparation is easy; warm them in the sun, on your car’s engine, drop the pouch in boiling water, or just eat them right out of the pouch.
