Awesome Heater

We live in the Panhandle of FLORIDA. Well, this past February we were struck Global Warming and were plunged into the 10's - we never get that cold here. Our community was completely unprepared for SNOW and ICE storms. Scary thought turned into reality when - BAM - the power was out for two days! We made it through and these little warmers helped out tremendously.

Turn on, then off, then on....

I haven't used anything like these in quite some time. With the brutal cold this last week I purchased a bunch. Upon reading the instructions; "remove from pocket if heat dissapates, shake to reactivate, replace in pocket" got me thinking. Ok, these are air activated. Can you shut them down and reuse?
The answer appears to be Yes.
Here is the results of my unscientific test. Your results may vary.
Activated, 'on' for one hour. Placed in baggie, all air removed.
8 hours later, reactivated, on for 10 hours. Placed in baggie, all air removed.
10 hours later, reactivated, on for 2 hours. Placed in baggie, all air removed.
5 hours later, reactivated, on for 3 hours and then started 'cooling' down.
Total of 16 hours of use over almost 40 hours.
Considering the cool down/heat up times, I call that the full 18 hours of heat.
Great warmers. I have them in all vehicles, BOBs and at work.

Great value

I buy these by the case so I can have them on hand whenever we need them. They do last a very long time which is great when camping outdoors when it is cool. Since they don't wear out in 6 hours, you stay warm all night long. Not only does my family appreciate that I keep these on hand, but the boy scout troop does too. The case of handwarmers came in handy this weekend when they were camping in near zero weather!

Heat pack help

We love these! We mainly use them as heating pads. My daughter and I use them for menstrual cramps and my husband uses them for pain in his hips and legs. These last for 18 hours plus some. We can usually get almost 24 hours from them. We wrap them in a hanky or a piece of soft cloth because they can get very hot when applied directly to the skin. These don't need electricity or a microwave to warm them, so they are safe and long lasting. I carry some in my purse and have them in all of our firstaid kits. I don't know what we would do without them.
